Roca de Malvet
:
Maximum duration:
It is a quite representative itinerary about the rises and the drops in Romanyà. We’ll go down through Roca de Malvet mountain (it gives its name to an urbanisation). The whole zone is full of rocks that are half hidden among the vegetation. Maybe the name of the place is given by these rocks.
We’ll find one of these huge rocks that represent a watchtower over the whole vall d’Aro because of its strategic location.
We’ve chosen the option that runs from Santa Cristina to Mas Nou to climb to Romanyà. It goes on to Castanyeda fountain, always taking lovely paths.
From Romanyà, we’ll cycle towards Mas Nou. After barely a km, we’ll turn right (signpost) and we’ll go deep into the woods through a path. On our way down, we’ll take differents paths on the left. Before reaching the first houses of the urbanisation, we’ll find milestones that show where are these rocks (access on foot). We’ll cycle down to the greenway, always taking paths.
From the top of the rocks in Roca de Malvet, the perspective over l’Ardenya, Solius, Llagostera and la vall d’Aro, reaching the sea, is really breathtaking. It’s a different, accurate and detailed glance like a bird’s eye view over the delicate landscape, crossed by the Ridaura river.
