It’s an itinerary in the part of les Gavarres around Calonge, aiming to reach Puig dels Daus. The name refers to the fact that tiny metallic cubes that looks like dices come out from it. We’ll climb from Romanyà to Puig d’Arques and we’ll cycle on the ridge towards Sant Cebrià dels Alls and la Ganga. We’ll turn right by a lovely path in the woods before reaching the l’Alenyà abandoned mas in la Ganga col. We’ll cross a couple of hollows and we’ll arrive at Cosos mas, near Pilar quarry. We’ll enjoy a great panoramic view over this quarry along the route. We’ll cross the road and we’ll reach Puig dels Daus, a small hill that have big surprises. If we have patience to scratch clods of earth and clay, we’ll find the tiny metallic cubes. We must melt these clods to see the odd dices of Iron sulphate. This place should be classified, signposted and fairly preserved. At present, this interesting Puig dels Daus is at high risk. If nobody does anything about it, the houses and the urbanisations will inevitably swallow this hill.
